Marketing Links in Velveteen: Pre-save and Release-day Links

Updated July 9, 2026

The short answer

Marketing links help you promote a release. Velveteen offers two kinds: a pre-save link for building anticipation before a release is out, and a release-day link that routes fans to your music across stores once it is live. You create them on the Links page and Velveteen builds them for you.

This section explains both link types, how to create one, what the build statuses mean, how to manage links after they are live, and how to adjust release-day listening page appearance. Find them under Marketing, on the Links page.

The two link types

Pre-save link

For pre-saving a release before it is out, so it lands in fans' libraries on release day. Built on Found.ee.

Release-day link

For release day and after: one link that routes fans to your music across stores. Built on vlvtn.link.

Link appearance

Release-day listening page settings for label, tracks, focus track, expiration, downloads, and System, Light, or Dark appearance.

How it works

  1. 1

    Open Links under Marketing

Go to the Links page in the dashboard.
  2. 2

    Create a link

Use Create link, choose pre-save or release-day, and pick a release you have access to.
  3. 3

    Let Velveteen build it

A release-day link is ready instantly. A pre-save link is prepared in the background and turns Live when it is done.
  4. 4

    Share it

Copy the link and use it in your bio, posts, or ads.

One active link per type

Each release can have one active pre-save link and one active release-day link at a time. If one already exists, Velveteen points you to it instead of making a duplicate.

Tip

Release-day links are lightweight and work well for Meta ad promotion. Pre-save links are best set up weeks ahead so fans can save before launch.

Admin link views

Admins can switch between My links, All links, and All pre-save requests. All links shows marketing links across every user. All pre-save requests keeps Requested, Building, and Failed Found.ee queue entries separate.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need both links?+

No. Use a pre-save link before release to build saves, and a release-day link once the music is out. Many artists use both, in sequence.

Where do I manage links?+

On the Links page under Marketing. It lists your links with their status and actions to copy, open, or remove them. Admins can also switch to All links or All pre-save requests.

Which releases can I link?+

Any release you have permission on. You pick the release when you create the link.

What if creating a link is blocked?+

If your account is restricted, link creation is blocked until the restriction is resolved. Otherwise, you need permission on the release you are linking.
