Sharing Files with Vee in Velveteen

Updated June 22, 2026

The short answer

You can attach up to 5 images or documents to a Vee conversation. Vee reads the file contents and uses them to answer your question. Images (jpg, png, webp, gif) up to 25 MB and documents (pdf, docx, xlsx, xls, csv, txt, md) up to 10 MB are supported.

If you have a document you want Vee to read, a screenshot you want to discuss, or a file related to your catalog work, you can attach it directly in the Vee chat composer. Vee processes the content and incorporates it into its response.

Supported file types and limits

Images

JPG, JPEG, PNG, WebP, and GIF files up to 25 MB each. Vee reads the image and can describe, interpret, or answer questions about its content.

Documents

PDF, DOCX, XLSX, XLS, CSV, TXT, and Markdown files up to 10 MB each. Vee extracts text content and uses it to answer your question.

File count

Up to 5 files per conversation. Across all attached files, Vee can read up to 50,000 characters of extracted content total.

How to attach a file

  1. 1

    Open Vee

Open Vee from the Ask Vee button in the dashboard or from the mobile Vee button.
  2. 2

    Use the attachment button

Click or tap the attachment icon in the Vee composer.
  3. 3

    Select a file

Choose an image or document from your device. Files that exceed the size or type limits are rejected before upload.
  4. 4

    Ask your question

Type your message and send. Vee reads the attached file as part of the conversation.

Tip

You can attach multiple files in a single message, up to the 5-file limit. If a spreadsheet has more content than the character limit allows, Vee will work with the portion it can extract.

What Vee does with attachments

Vee extracts text from documents and inspects the visual content of images. It uses the file contents to inform its response, the same way it uses catalog tool results or product FAQ context.

Attachments are tied to the conversation thread. If you start a new thread, previously attached files are not carried over.

Heads up

Do not attach files containing sensitive credentials, passwords, or personal identification information. Treat Vee conversations the same way you would any online communication.
