Vee in Velveteen: AI Assistant for Your Catalog
Updated June 13, 2026
Vee is Velveteen's AI assistant for music distribution and catalog management. It can answer product questions, inspect your catalog with scoped tools, help explain release and pitch fields, summarize statuses, and move you to the right dashboard page.
Use Vee when you need product help inside the app or when you want Velveteen to look at your own catalog data. Vee is connected to the dashboard, but it is not a replacement for support when a billing, policy, or account issue needs human review.
The main Vee workflows
Product help
Vee can answer how-to questions using the same product FAQ and help concepts that power the dashboard Help Center.
Catalog questions
For releases, tracks, artists, labels, people, royalties, and analytics, Vee can call scoped tools instead of guessing.
Navigation
When you ask to see a page, Vee can move you to the matching dashboard route.
Field help
When opened from field-help cards, Vee receives context about the exact field you are editing.
A good first path
- 1
Ask the literal question
Ask Vee for the exact thing you need, such as why a release cannot submit or where to edit a track credit. - 2
Let Vee load context
If the answer depends on your catalog, Vee should use catalog tools before answering. - 3
Follow the route or fix
Use the dashboard link, status explanation, or field guidance Vee gives you. - 4
Open support when needed
If the issue needs a human decision or account intervention, move from Vee to a support ticket or plan-specific support chat.
How Vee chooses answers
For general policy and how-to questions, Vee searches the product FAQ first.
For catalog metadata, status, royalties, analytics, and existing release or track fields, Vee should use the relevant catalog tool first. That keeps the answer tied to your actual account instead of generic documentation.
Tip
Frequently asked questions
Is Vee available on every plan?+
The plan FAQ says all plans include the Vee AI assistant. Plan limits can still affect the actions available elsewhere in the product.
Can Vee edit my catalog?+
Vee has tool access for catalog workflows, but the exact action depends on the tool and your permissions. It should explain what it changed or where it navigated.
Can Vee replace support?+
No. Use Vee for product help, catalog inspection, and routing. Use support for account, billing, review, restriction, or policy situations that need a human decision.
Where do I open Vee?+
Use the Ask Vee button in the dashboard, the promoted Vee button on mobile, or the full-screen Vee route under /dashboard/vee.
