Quick Fixes for Release Readiness in Velveteen
Updated June 13, 2026
Quick fixes are one-click actions in the readiness panel that resolve common issues for you: generate a UPC or ISRC, set a copyright year to the current year, copy the consumer date, set the format from the track count, and copy genres from the release to a track. You can apply several at once.
Quick fixes save you from editing each field by hand. They cover the most common, mechanical readiness issues.
Release fixes
Generate UPC
Turn on automatic UPC generation instead of entering one.
Use current year
Set the copyright or production year to the current year.
Set format from track count
Pick Single, EP, or Album based on how many tracks the release has.
Track fixes
Generate ISRC
Turn on automatic ISRC generation for the track.
Copy from release
Copy the copyright year or text from the release to the track.
Match release genres
Copy the release genre fields onto the track, which also clears the single-track genre-match rule.
Applying them
- 1
Open the readiness panel
Fixable issues appear under Release fixes and Track fixes. - 2
Apply one or all
Apply a single fix, or use Apply fixes to clear the fixable issues in one step. - 3
Handle the rest by hand
Issues that need your judgment, like artwork or audio, are not auto-fixable and stay in the list.
Tip
Frequently asked questions
Are quick fixes safe?+
Yes. They only set mechanical fields such as identifiers, years, dates, format, and genre copies. You can still edit anything afterward.
Can I undo a quick fix?+
Yes. A quick fix just sets a field, so you can change it again by editing the release or track.
Why are some issues not fixable?+
Issues that need a real decision or upload, such as artwork, audio, or the AI declaration, have no automatic fix.
What does Apply fixes do?+
It applies every available automatic fix at once, then leaves the issues that need your input in the list.
