Set Up Digital Products for an Artist Website

Updated July 31, 2026

The short answer

Digital products let an administrator create artist-scoped downloads for an Artist Website. The setup page stores the product details, keeps the fulfillment file private, publishes a product page at /products/[slug], and sends an authorized fan through website checkout before delivery.

Open Dashboard > Website > Store to create products for an artist website. The product editor is administrator-only because it controls paid files and checkout-facing content.

Create a product

  1. 1

    Choose the artist website

Select the artist whose public website should display the product.
  2. 2

    Add the product details

Complete Title, Public URL slug, Tagline, Description, Price (USD), and Visibility. The public path uses /products/[slug].
  3. 3

    Add artwork

Upload a PNG, JPEG, or WebP image for the store card and product page.
  4. 4

    Upload the private delivery file

Upload the ZIP, PDF, audio, or other supported fulfillment file. The stored file remains private and is not served as a public asset.
  5. 5

    Save the product

Use Save product to create or update the artist-scoped record. Use New product to clear the editor and start another one.

Choose the visibility state

Draft

The product stays out of the public store while you prepare the copy, artwork, and file.

Coming soon

The product appears on the public store and product page without opening checkout.

Available

The product appears as purchasable, subject to the private file, price, and website payment checks.

Archived

The product is hidden from the public store. The record remains available for administrative review or restoration.

Checkout and delivery guardrails

Available products need a private delivery file and a price of at least $0.50 USD. A free lead magnet belongs in the website free-download section instead.

Website checkout also requires payment authorization, a selected eligible recipient, current payment terms, an active direct-sales profile, and the configured payment service. Use Review payment readiness from the product page to open Website payments when checkout is not ready.

Fans sign in through the website fan account before purchase. After payment, the purchase is attached to that fan account and the private file can be delivered through the store download flow.

Frequently asked questions

Who can create digital products?+

The current Artist Website pilot exposes product setup to administrators. The product record is still scoped to the selected artist.

Can I publish a product without its file?+

You can save a Draft or Coming soon product without a file. Available requires a private delivery file.

Archive hides it from the public store and product route while preserving the administrative record.

Where do fans see the product?+

Published Coming soon and Available products appear at /store and have their own /products/[slug] page on the artist website.
