How Referrals Work in Velveteen

A referral has three steps: you share your link, your friend gets their first month free when they subscribe to any plan, and you earn a credit on your next bill. The credit lands once their subscription is active.

Share your link
Copy your referral link or send it by email from the Referrals page. - 2
Your friend subscribes
They sign up with your link and subscribe to any plan. Their first month is free. - 3
Your credit is applied
When their subscription activates, Velveteen applies a credit to your account automatically.
What counts
A referral is successful when your friend signs up with your link and starts a paid subscription. A signup on its own is not enough; the reward depends on them subscribing.
You cannot refer yourself, and a person can only be referred once.

Yes. The free first month and your credit both depend on them subscribing to a paid plan with your link.
What if they sign up but do not subscribe?+
The referral stays pending. The reward is applied only once they start a paid subscription.

Can someone be referred twice?+
No. Each person can be referred once.
