Velveteen for Artists in AI assistants

Updated September 30, 2026

The short answer

Velveteen for Artists lets an authorized AI assistant read your artist catalog, release status, track metadata and readiness checklists. It uses the access already assigned to your Velveteen account.

Connection availability depends on your assistant, region and workspace settings. Use your existing Velveteen account when a connection is available. Your assistant's own data policies also apply to information you request.

Connect your account

  1. 1

    Find the artist connector

Choose Velveteen for Artists from the connections available in your assistant. If it is unavailable in your workspace, contact Velveteen support for the current connection options.
  2. 2

    Review access and sign in

Sign in to Velveteen and review the request to read your catalog. Approve only if the named connection and requested access match what you intend.
  3. 3

    Ask about your catalog

Ask which releases you can access, what status a release has, or which metadata fields need attention. Choose the correct release when names are similar.

Read a checklist and finish in the dashboard

A readiness result identifies missing or inconsistent metadata. It does not approve a release or guarantee delivery. Open the dashboard link to review the release, make changes and follow the submission process.

The artist connection provides reads only. Editing, uploading, submitting, purchases and payouts remain separate dashboard workflows.

Permissions and reconnecting

Viewer access can read shared catalog items. Items outside your permissions remain unavailable, even if you know their names or identifiers.

Remove the connection in your assistant to stop using it there. If sign-in expires or access has been revoked, reconnect and review the new consent request. Contact support if the assistant keeps requesting a reconnection or reports an unavailable catalog.

Frequently asked questions

Can the assistant submit my release?+

This artist connection reads catalog information and metadata checklists. Open your release in the dashboard to complete authoritative submission.

Does a ready checklist mean my release is approved?+

Approval includes additional checks in the submission process. A metadata checklist alone does not approve or deliver your release.

Why can I see a shared release?+

The connection follows your existing catalog permissions, including viewer access. It does not grant access to other accounts.

Will every assistant account have the connector?+

Availability depends on the host, region and workspace settings. Contact support for current options if the connection is unavailable.
